About Michelle KrawiecMichelle started her musical training in 1992 playing the flute and then later, the saxophone. She played in many county groups including the West of England School Symphonic Windband and flute choir Flutissimo. Michelle studied at Bath Spa University College where she specialised in performance and graduated with an Honours degree. She studied under Katey Thomas, Liz May (flute & piccolo) and Richard Dobson. She took an active role in University ensembles culminating as a concerto soloist performing the Mozart Flute and Harp Concerto at the Guildhall in Bath. In addition to her University studies Michelle has attended numerous masterclasses and courses, including those led by: Susan Milan, Wissam Boustany, Claire Southworth, Ian Clarke, Neil McLaren and Nancy Ruffer. She now continues her studies with Nicholas Vallis-Davies. Michelle is a qualified music teacher and teaches both for the South Gloucestershire Music Service and at her busy private teaching practice. Michelle is a versatile performer playing at a variety of occasions from formal concerts to wedding receptions. She performs regularly with a number of different ensembles, these include: the flute duo Appassionata, the flute quintet No Strings Attached (playing flute, alto and bass flutes), a flute-harp duo with Julia Hammersley and with Rhayn Jooste in a flute-guitar duo. Currently, Michelle is principal flautist for Brunel Sinfonia & Bristol Classical Players orchestras and the West Bristol Concert Windband, she is also is a regular guest soloist with the Avon and Somerset Constabulary Male Voice Choir. ![]()
